About Us

A never ending pursuit for creative film making!

What is a drone?

An unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), commonly known as a drone and also referred by several other names, is an aircraft without a human pilot aboard.

The flight of UAVs may be controlled either autonomously by onboard computers or by the remote control of a pilot on the ground or in another vehicle.

Where and what I can film?

Lets start with the 5 big (NO's).

1. No flying over 400 feet from ground

2. No flying 30 minutes after Sunset or before

Sunrise.

3. No flying in National Parks.

4. You must stay within 'Line of Sight' of the Drone.

5. You must get a waiver to fly-in controlled airspace.

As long as you follow those rules you can film anything that the camera can capture.

How long does a shoot take?

Fixed Landmarks and Real-Estate can take about an hour for the basic shots.  More dynamic shooting that involves drone and camera movement can take up to two hours.

Any kind of 'tracking' where the drone has to follow a target on the ground can take up to 3 hours.

Note that the average flight time per battery is about 25 minutes. You need to allow time to take of and land, which gives you about 15minutes of filming per half hour of flight time.

4K CAMERA

Our crews can shoot 4K video and capture 20 mega-pixel photos with our drones.  The lenses we use consist of 9 separate elements, including an aspherical element, for extreme clarity, while Adobe DNG RAW support gives you the power to make every shot a masterpiece.  The power to shoot the perfect video!

Transforming Film Making

Go where you never could before!

Planning

1 // BRAINSTORMING

2 // SETTING GOALS

3 // CONCEPT BUY-IN

4 // WRITTEN PLAN

Careful planning goes a long way...

You have a vision.  With careful Planning we can recreate that CONCEPT within the limitations of the FAA rules, equipment and environment of which we fly. We will work with you to set GOALS for the project and use those as benchmarks to achieve real word results.

We take all this information and put it in a WRITTEN production outline and flight PLAN.

Scouting

1 // SHOTS REQUIRED

2 // LOCATIONS

3 // PERMITS

4 // WEATHER

Location! Location! Location!

SCOUTING the LOCATION is key to finding obstacles, and landing zone.

On site we will determine how many SHOTS are REQUIRED to achieve the desired look.

If we are taking off in a private right-of-way or restricted flight area we may need PERMITS.

WEATHER is always a concern, we can't fly if the wind is 17mph, or in rain.  Some locations have micro-weather systems so SCOUTING the LOCATION reveals any issues we may have with the flight.

Filming

1 // PREP DRONES

2 // FLIGHT PLANS

3 // CAPTURE VIDEO

4 // DOWNLOAD FILES

Ready, Set, Takeoff, Action!

On the set of the shoot the 1st thing we do is PREP the DRONE, check the batteries, props, controls. We review our weather then refer to our FLIGHT PLAN and file it if necessary in case we are flying under a PERMIT in a restricted area.

Using our FLIGHT PLAN and SHOT list we proceed to takeoff and film.

Once we have the REQUIRED SHOTS the drone is landed.  We review the VIDEO/SHOTS. If we have what we need, we shut down the Drone and DOWNLOAD the video files.
